Game Description/Game play

Infinities: Defiance of Fate is a game in which players to use strategic card playing in combination  with wargame mechanics to build a like board game using tiles. The game can be played in two ways, Skirmish or Adventure. In Skirmish mode, players battle against each other to complete objectives and gain the most points. In Adventure mode, players follow a story in which they complete twisting actions, objectives and ultimately win conditions.

To begin play, each player chooses a leader. Their leader represents them throughout the game. Each leader is represented on a playmat and has unique abilities. On your playmat, you place tokens to represent your unique abilities or Gambits, attribute tracks, and tokens to represent your resources. In Skirmish mode, players roll five dice and choose three to carry out the actions of. Players also play cards to boost their attributes or play ability cards to add one time effects. As the game plays, players build the game board by placing hexagonal shaped tiles. Players moves across the board to create the strongest army and attack their opponents to rule to world. Adventure mode is played a bit differently. Players navigate the game in teams by exploring and changing the game through various story threads.

Infinities: Defiance of Fate was a great play for our group. While we didn't get to fully play Adventure mode, due to the prototype, we loved getting involved in stories and exploring a game. There is something exciting about being the first to explore something new and learn more about the world you are in. Skirmish mode was great for the members of our group that are a bit more competitive. Players were able to hash things out a by competing for points and domination.

Nonstop Tabletop would recommend this game if you enjoy a strategic play with a bit of adventure. The aspect of creating the board as you play is exciting. Creating the play board along with changes powers, and various win conditions make the replayability of this game endless.
